What's New: Pre-Orders, SG Shipping, Custom Fonts & More

whats-newproduct-updateschangelogfeatures22 April 2026 · JomJual

The last two weeks have been big. You can now accept pre-orders, ship to Singapore, put your store into a branded maintenance mode, pick custom fonts for your storefront, feature specific product variants, and more.

This is a packed release. If you only have time for the highlights, pre-orders and Singapore shipping are the two features most merchants have been asking for. Everything else makes your storefront easier to customise and safer to operate. Here's what's new.

Accept Pre-Orders

You can now take orders for products that are out of stock or not yet released. Enable pre-order mode per product, set an expected fulfillment window, and let customers reserve items before you ship.

This unlocks a few sales patterns that were previously painful on JomJual — limited drops where you want to gauge demand before producing stock, launch campaigns where you tease a product before it arrives, and restocks where customers can queue up instead of churning to Shopee. Pre-order items are clearly labelled on product pages so customers know what they're signing up for.

  • Per-product toggle — only the SKUs you choose go into pre-order mode, the rest of your store behaves normally.

  • Expected ship date — set a window so customers know when to expect their order.

  • Clear labelling — pre-order badges show on product cards and checkout so there are no surprises.

Pre-orders are included on JomJual's free plan. Try JomJual now — no monthly fees, no credit card required.

Ship to Singapore

JomJual now supports cross-border shipping from Malaysia to Singapore. Singapore addresses and rates are live at checkout, and couriers are selected automatically based on the destination.

If you're a KL-based brand selling fashion, food, or gifts, your closest international market is one causeway away. With the Ringgit-to-Singapore-Dollar exchange rate where it is, Singaporean customers have strong purchasing power on Malaysian products. Shipping there used to require a separate setup — now it's a checkbox.

Maintenance Mode

You can now take your storefront offline with a single toggle in Store Settings. Visitors see a branded maintenance page with a custom message — useful while you're mid-rebrand, doing a big inventory cleanup, or pausing orders during Raya balik kampung.

The trick is that you can still browse your own live site through a secure preview link, so you're not flying blind while the rest of the world sees the maintenance page. You can keep editing and testing without customers landing on half-built changes.

  • Custom message — tell visitors what's happening and when you'll be back.

  • Owner preview — a secure link lets you view the live site even while maintenance is on.

  • SEO-safe — the maintenance page is set up so search engines don't index it as your real content.

Custom Fonts & A Smarter Theme Editor

The Appearance page got a serious upgrade. You can now pick custom heading and body fonts from a curated Google Fonts catalog, with a live preview before you save. Your storefront loads the fonts dynamically so typography changes show up instantly.

The editor itself is cleaner too — we've added an accordion layout, a base theme selector modal, and editable hex inputs on every color row so you can paste brand colors directly instead of fiddling with a colour wheel. When you change a colour, text contrast now auto-computes to meet WCAG accessibility standards, so your buttons and headings stay readable without you having to think about it.

Custom fonts and full theme control are free on every JomJual store. Open the Appearance page and make your storefront look like your brand, not a template.

Feature Specific Variants (Plus a Carousel)

The Featured Products picker now lets you select individual variants — not just parent products. So if you want to feature the black medium shirt specifically, not the whole "Basic Tee" listing, you can. Each featured card shows the variant's own image and price.

Featured products also render as a swipeable carousel on your homepage now, with variant-aware images, compare-at pricing, and smoother browsing on mobile. Combined with variant deep links (where product pages preselect a variant from a ?variant URL parameter), you can now link from an ad or a WhatsApp broadcast directly to the exact product option you're promoting.

More Block Customization

Homepage block customization picked up a second round of upgrades. You can now override text colour for an entire block and all its child elements in one click, with hex input support on the colour picker. Image-text blocks also got a tighter visual hierarchy on mobile, so headings, body copy, and CTAs flow more naturally on small screens.

Small things, but they add up. If you've been trying to land a specific look on your homepage and hitting small layout frustrations, the builder should feel noticeably less fiddly now.

Blog Editor: Tables, HTML Mode & Clickable Tags

If you're using the built-in blog to publish content (strongly recommended for SEO — see our guide on starting an online store in Malaysia), the editor got three upgrades.

  • Tables — insert and edit tables directly in the editor, useful for comparison posts and specs.

  • HTML source mode — toggle into raw HTML when you need precise control over formatting or want to paste structured markup.

  • Cover image uploads — upload cover images directly from the editor instead of through a separate flow.

  • Clickable tag pills — tag pills on published posts now filter your blog index by tag through the URL, so readers can explore related content in one click.

Store Visit Stats On Your Dashboard

Your dashboard now shows real visit stats for your storefront. Daily visits and unique visitors are front and centre, powered by a first-party, privacy-friendly tracker — no third-party scripts, no Google Analytics setup required on your end.

This is a small number that tells a big story. If you just ran a Raya campaign or posted in a Facebook seller group, you'll see the bump. If traffic is flat for three weeks, that's also information — it tells you it's time to revisit how you're getting the word out.

Landing Page Now AI-Ready

Behind the scenes, our main landing site picked up GA4 analytics, structured data, an llms.txt manifest, AI crawler rules, canonical URLs, Organization schema, and an RSS feed. Translation: we made the site more discoverable by both Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews.

Why does this matter to you? Because over 60% of informational searches now end without a click — customers get their answer from an AI summary. If JomJual is cited there, merchants searching "best free ecommerce platform Malaysia" are more likely to find us, which grows the whole ecosystem. Expect more of this behind-the-scenes SEO work across the platform in the coming weeks.

And More

A few smaller improvements worth noting:

  • FAQ schema on landing pages — search engines and AI assistants can now pull direct answers from our FAQ content.

  • Clearer landing copy — rewrote subtitles across all four locales (English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese, Tamil) to get to the point faster.

  • Navigation fix — Features and Pricing links now correctly scroll to their sections from any page, not just the homepage.

All of this is free on JomJual. No monthly fees, no transaction limits, no credit card required. Create your store in under 5 minutes and start selling today.

As always, hit reply on any email we send, or drop us a message — we build this platform based on what Malaysian merchants are actually asking for. See you in the next update.
