Pause your storefront with maintenance mode

Use maintenance mode while updating the store or temporarily pausing new shopping activity.

Step by step

1. Open Settings → General → Store status.
2. Choose Maintenance mode, add a customer-facing message and save. Read the confirmation before enabling it.
3. Use Preview store to review your work while customers see the maintenance page.
4. When ready, return the store to Live and save. Open the public storefront to confirm it is available.

Before you finish

Existing orders and webhooks continue to process. Maintenance mode is not an order cancellation tool. Keep fulfilling paid orders and replying to customers while the storefront is paused.
