Offer preorders and set buyer expectations

Preorders are useful when an item needs preparation before it can be dispatched.

Step by step

1. Open the product editor and enable Preorder.
2. Set the preparation time in days using the preorder field.
3. Explain the expected preparation period in the product description, including any important ordering deadline.
4. Save and check the storefront. Review incoming orders regularly and fulfil them through Orders when ready.

Before you finish

Preparation time and courier transit time are different. Do not promise an arrival date based only on the preorder preparation field. Keep your description up to date if production timing changes.
